My name is Chelsey.
I am an artist living in Dallas, Texas. Graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Psychology, I did not study Studio Art because I believed making a career for myself would be nearly impossible. Although my parents had always encouraged and supported my talent, I allowed insecurity and fear to prevent me from pursuing art as a profession. These attitudes were rooted in comparison and striving for perfection, believing the lie that I would never be good enough.
But my heart came back to creating, and the understanding that I have a gift to share with others. I have since changed the way I view my art, using it as a tool to break free from barriers and exploring the authenticity and beauty that can come from imperfection. I find strength and reassurance in knowing that I am submitting to something bigger than myself. “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I hope that I don't have a single bit of talent left, and say, I used everything You gave me.”
